About The Position

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking qualified candidates for an open Manager New Products & Services position. This role involves leading a team of product development and analytical professionals to define, develop, and launch new products and services supporting PSE's business, customer, and clean energy needs. The manager will oversee the entire product development and delivery cycle, focusing on Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Electric Vehicles (EV), and dynamic rates. Key responsibilities include identifying market opportunities, assessing new products/services, developing business cases, and ensuring the product portfolio aligns with market strategy, customer strategy, and company financial goals to deliver measurable business value. The role also emphasizes upholding safety compliance, promoting a culture of total safety, and ensuring business is conducted ethically and in accordance with core values and Code of Conduct, while adhering to all regulatory compliance obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 7 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in managing/planning utility programs/services, customer policies and offerings.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing products, services, and programs in a cross functional environment.
  • Deep understanding of customer motivations through experience working directly and indirectly in customer facing organizations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with internal/external stakeholders representing diverse interests.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a passion for safety. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety including eliminating at-risk behaviors by conducting safety audits and inspections, eliminating hazards and near misses, and attending safety meetings.
  • Sets clear expectations and holds employees accountable for performance as well as safety goals/targets where applicable.
  • Oversees training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions. Ensures required training is successfully completed.
  • Challenges and inspires employees to achieve business results.
  • Accountable to ensure employees adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements, as well as safety standards.
  • Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews.
  • Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business, customer and safety results.
  • Leads teams of product management/sales personnel who manage products that meet customer needs and deliver the results specified in the business plans.
  • Leads the development of portfolio and market strategies that create customer value, deliver business value, and inform the priorities of customer-facing and grid planning organizations.
  • Identifies and leads efforts to develop new product opportunities.
  • Provides product design and development leadership for DER, EV, and dynamic rates offerings, including roadmap definition, business case development, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Facilitates a collaborative product planning process across PSE.
  • Participates in the in-depth strategic assessment and development of high potential customer market strategies.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the product portfolios, including tracking outcomes and ensuring initiatives deliver expected customer and business value.
  • Ensures alignment with PSE’s regulatory processes and WUTC approval of new product tariffs.
  • Builds awareness and garners advocacy of product offerings among all customer-facing PSE employees and interested parties, including collaboration as needed with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC) and other regulatory stakeholders.
  • Integrates closely with business analytics teams, regional teams, other customer solutions groups, and all customer facing organizations, to plan and deliver solutions seamlessly to customers.
  • Represents PSE in regional and national organizations and forums as appropriate.
  • Contributes to strategy and development efforts for new product and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
