About The Position

At KCRW, our members are our lifeblood, a passionate cohort of curious enthusiasts, and our future is connecting them to each other and to a rich ecosystem of cultural experiences. Manager, Member Growth will optimize and expand a successful and comprehensive sustainer-focused revenue and member growth program across KCRW’s legacy revenue channels. Responsibilities are focused on strategy and message development, implementation, and analysis to maximize member conversion and retention. This includes executing member growth efforts across KCRW’s longstanding audience communication channels — on air, online, by mail, and in person. They will also be responsible for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to streamline operations. This role combines a passion for copywriting, systems optimization, iterative improvement, and future-proofing. The position reports to the Director, Marketing & Member Growth, and manages summer interns and volunteers as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Requirements

  • 4 years progressively responsible experience in a membership, marketing, or sales role that includes writing, editing, campaign coordination, and at least 2 year of data-driven reporting analytics and campaign building
  • Ability to be innovative, and forward-thinking with a demonstrated competency in strategy as well as strong abilities in relationship management
  • A sharp lens on contemporary culture and the ability to discern and deliver offerings that would excite our audience
  • A collaborative approach. This position must have the ability to work well with senior leadership and across departments at KCRW
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, including project leadership and management skills
  • A love of KCRW, its mission, Southern California, and all communities in which we find ourselves

Nice To Haves

  • Strong CRM/database management experience, preferably Salesforce
  • Strong email and/or text marketing experience, preferably Hubspot
  • Skilled in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), content management systems (e.g., Contentful), ticketing and customer service tools (e.g., Humanitix, Zendesk), AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini), and analytics tools (e.g., Domo, Google Analytics)
  • Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the organization to maximize member growth from new and existing audiences, including researching, testing, developing, and executing multi-channel member growth campaigns, including pledge drives and other year-round fundraising efforts.
  • Write and edit promotional campaign copy for multi-channel use
  • Track and maintain baseline member conversion metrics for all channels and help identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ideate, organize, and execute member growth campaign incentives like sweepstakes, perks, and challenge grants with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with the Manager, Member Engagement to ensure regular member communication and create custom stewardship plans for member segments
  • Collaborate with Development to strengthen the mid-level pipeline
  • Lead membership process optimization and technology projects as needed
  • Identify opportunities to streamline department processes and procedures
  • Support additional membership tasks like customer service and donation processing
  • Staff events as assigned
  • Perform additional tasks as required or assigned by Director, Marketing & Member Growth
  • Must be self-motivated, with limited direction from manager
