About The Position

Leads the planning, design, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction completion. Manages the mechanical design process to ensure technical quality, compliance with applicable codes and standards, and adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule. Coordinates internal and external design teams to develop safe, efficient, and constructible mechanical systems. Balances project management responsibilities with hands-on technical involvement to support successful project execution and team development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 8 or more years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• 4 or more years of experience leading projects and managing and developing teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Experience across diverse markets, including advanced technology and manufacturing, healthcare, and/or life sciences.
• NCEES record for licensure maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage production of mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations for projects of smaller to moderate size and complexity, from conceptual design through construction documents and construction administration.
• Oversee development of mechanical system designs, including HVAC, piping, hydronic, and equipment systems, using applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordination, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and change management activities related to mechanical engineering scope.
• Provide technical guidance and decision-making on complex mechanical engineering issues, serving as a subject matter expert for project teams.
• Mentor and develop mechanical engineering staff within project teams, supporting professional growth and technical proficiency.
