About The Position

The Manager, Market Strategy & Planning supports the commercial success of PetSafe Brands’ product verticals by translating data into actionable insights and building the commercial plans that connect product roadmaps to the market. This role is a critical bridge between the Product & Technology organization and the Revenue team — partnering closely with Product Management and Product Marketing on value proposition and market needs, while owning MS&P-led work in channel strategy, pricing, category P&L investment, and retail execution. Approximately 50% of this role operates in direct collaboration with Sales. Success is measured by the quality of commercial insight delivered, the effectiveness of go-to-market plans, and the financial performance of the categories supported.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in commercial strategy, category management, sales planning, or related fields; experience working across Sales, Marketing, and Product functions preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience using POS data, syndicated data (Nielsen/Circana), and internal sales reporting; ability to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail execution, trade investment levers, pricing strategy, and channel management in a consumer products environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable partnering with Product Management and Product Marketing and presenting to senior commercial leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field required.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

  • Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and in-store activity to inform strategy and surface risks or opportunities to leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing to validate market needs, ensuring commercial and consumer insights inform product investment decisions and roadmap prioritization.
  • Support the commercialization strategic brief process in partnership with Product Management and Product Marketing, providing channel, pricing, and P&L context to inform launch decisions.
