About The Position
The Manager, Market Design & Market Readiness is responsible for translating day-ahead market rules, tariffs, and readiness requirements into actionable internal processes and participation frameworks. This role ensures Avangrid is operationally and commercially prepared to participate in EDAM or Markets+ in a compliant, effective, and value-driven manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or relevant experience in a related field
- 8–12 years of experience in power markets, market design, or market operations
- Direct experience interpreting wholesale market tariffs or implementation requirements

Responsibilities
- Interpret market tariffs, business practice manuals, and readiness requirements
- Translate market rules into: Internal day-ahead bidding frameworks, Market participation rules for generation and BA operations
- Own and maintain the EDAM or Markets+ implementation and readiness checklist
- Coordinate readiness testing, trial operations, and parallel operations
- Interface regularly with Legal, Regulatory, Transmission, Trading, and Operations
- Track market rule changes and ensure timely internal adoption
