Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering
About The Position
The Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the work of designing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes for manufacturing to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers' products. This role involves understanding customer technical roadmaps, managing new customer-specific process development projects, and overseeing the technical aspects of these projects throughout the full product lifecycle. The manager will also be responsible for best practice standard development, participating in industry organizations, and providing global training and support. Additionally, they will set departmental goals, manage performance, and ensure departmental objectives and key performance indicators are met.
Requirements
- Autodac, Excel and advanced English
- Knowledge in electronic manufacturing, SMT processes, PCBA
- Lean methodologies, 3P, Capacity study, Playbook, time and motion, Layout, DLE, OEEE.
- 7 to 10 years of related experience
- Experience in similar job roles
- Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for understanding the customers technical roadmap and identifying and managing all new customer-specific process development projects.
- Manage technical aspects for all new customer-specific process development projects.
- Develop the scope of all technical work, coordinate the team, direct work assignments and assist with problem resolution for the full customer product life cycle support for all manufacturing technical issues related to the customers product(s) from product conception to product obsolescence.
- Evaluate potential manufacturing impact for each design concept.
- Responsible for the best practice standard development, participate in Industry organizations for developing the standards and provide training and application support globally.
- Set yearly plans and goals for their department and give direction on expected performance and provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback.
- Accountable for all department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators.
- Updating layouts - Perform layout designs and redesigns at micro and macro level.
- Line balancing - Timing and movements
- Governance, control and management of capacity studies
- Governance, control and adherence to 3p radar as main kpi of ie
- Product playbook generation and management
- Maintain up to date cycle time information
- Identify and implement labor efficiencies
- Coordinate line and area releases
- Manage and master pmo's for layout movement coordination
- Maintain fully completed procedures for layout movements
- Participate in the introduction of new projects and new processes
- Participation in kaizen projects
- Participation in flowchart mapping and flow analysis
- Participation in the design of safe work areas
- Participation in process improvement action closures
- Labor and equipment requirement analysis
