Job Summary The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance is responsible for leading the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance functions within the Dyersburg Pad Plant. This position is accountable for equipment reliability, manufacturing process improvements, capital project execution, and facility maintenance activities that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. The role provides direct leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering team and Maintenance Supervisor while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Safety to achieve plant objectives. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, improve equipment performance, develop technical talent, and ensure manufacturing processes support the long-term growth of the business. This position is located onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation assistance is available.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience In Engineering or Maintenance leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proven project management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team.
  • Establish a structured process for identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and justifying equipment and process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure manufacturing engineers develop business cases that support operational, safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Manage capital projects from concept and justification through procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure equipment improvements and process changes align with production goals.
  • Track project performance to ensure expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance team.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are effectively managed and executed.
  • Utilize maintenance data and equipment performance metrics to reduce downtime and improve asset utilization.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of critical equipment and facility issues.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and evaluate equipment investments that improve safety, quality, productivity, and capacity.
  • Oversee equipment sourcing, vendor selection, installation, and startup activities.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, maintenance personnel, and operations teams throughout project implementation.
  • Support annual capital planning and budgeting activities.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to identify production constraints and implement solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Utilize production and maintenance performance data to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
  • Support productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in daily operational reviews and plant performance discussions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop the technical and leadership capabilities of Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance personnel.
  • Establish clear expectations, objectives, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization.
