About The Position

Directs and coordinates machining engineering activities related to CNC machining processes, manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for leading machining engineering personnel in developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing methods to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, statistical analysis, process capability studies, and manufacturing calculations.
Ability to interpret engineering data and apply mathematical operations to process improvement, tooling analysis, machine capability, and production efficiency evaluations.
Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, and process documentation.
Ability to solve complex manufacturing and machining-related problems involving multiple variables and production constraints.

Responsibilities

Directs and oversees machining engineering activities for CNC lathes, CNC mills, robotic systems, automation equipment, tooling, fixtures, and related manufacturing processes.
Leads machining engineers and engineering technicians in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling strategies, and process improvements.
Develops and implements methods to improve production efficiency, reduce scrap, minimize downtime, and improve product quality.
Oversees development of CNC programs, setup procedures, tooling requirements, work holding concepts, and machining process standards.
Provides technical leadership and troubleshooting support for machining operations, equipment issues, process concerns, and quality-related problems.
Reviews and approves engineering change requests, process changes, tooling changes, and manufacturing documentation.
Coordinates installation, startup, validation, and optimization of new machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with engineering and production requirements.
Develops and manages capital equipment projects, including cost analysis, budgeting, justification, vendor coordination, and implementation.
Collaborates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support manufacturing goals and customer requirements.
Develops and maintains process documentation including PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams, setup sheets, and standardized work instructions.
Monitors machining performance metrics and recommends corrective actions to improve productivity and efficiency.
Participates in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to customer complaints, internal defects, and equipment failures.
Ensures compliance with all company safety policies, quality standards, and applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
Responsible for development and adherence to quality system procedures, policies, and instructions.
Participates in continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing, cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity improvement projects.
Conducts employee training and development related to machining processes, CNC operations, tooling, and engineering systems.
