About The Position
The Manager Live Haul is responsible for overseeing feed and live haul activities, including rendering, feed, and live haul drivers, and coordinating the movement of animals and feed between local destinations. The role manages daily sorting station operations, coordinates feed delivery and live haul schedules, and maintains accurate records of vehicles and animal locations. It also ensures compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, environmental requirements, safety guidelines, and biosecurity protocols. The position manages one or more groups of Team Members performing similar activities. It requires the ability to travel domestically six or more times per year and to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
- Specialized knowledge in a related field, normally acquired through two years of college resulting in an Associate degree or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Standard computer proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically six or more times per year.
- Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Manage feed and live haul operations, including rendering, feed, and live haul drivers.
- Coordinate and oversee the movement of animals and feed between local destinations.
- Direct and manage the daily activities of the sorting station.
- Develop and maintain daily feed and live haul schedules.
- Maintain an active and accurate list of all vehicles and their locations.
- Keep a master log of animal locations.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Monitor and support compliance with environmental requirements, safety guidelines, and biosecurity protocols.
- Maintain records related to accidents, safety award point accumulation, payroll, and driver logs.
- Conduct driver safety meetings.
- Facilitate new Team Member orientation.
- Perform other duties as required.
