About The Position

The Manager, Last Mile Operations oversees daily last-mile delivery operations, including contract carriers, staff, dispatch, and route planning. The role supports customer expectations and operational efficiency by monitoring routes, addressing issues, ensuring accurate and timely work, and allocating resources. It also includes developing and supervising employees and contract carriers while ensuring compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related logistics and supervisory experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a similar field.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends, and to travel occasionally between branches and regions.
• Experience mentoring, training, and guiding newer or less-experienced team members.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ability to read, write, and speak both languages.
• Strong business acumen and willingness to partner with management teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily contract carrier operations, including contractor schedules, route and report monitoring, and relationships with carriers and helpers.
• Develop and mentor staff, and train staff on company policies and procedures.
• Interview, hire, discipline, and resolve issues as part of managerial responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs.
• Supervise employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Use route planning software to build efficient delivery routes.
• Manage contract carrier dispatch and resolve issues throughout the day.
• Identify operational problem areas, including restructuring routes to improve efficiency.
• Train and develop contract carriers and dispatchers to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within established time frames.
• Ensure photos are taken for every job.
• Allocate and request additional resources as needed.
