About The Position

The Manager of Jewish Experiences plays a key role in advancing the mission of Jewish Experiences, a collaboration between The J and the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City dedicated to connecting individuals across the Jewish community through meaningful programming, strategic partnerships, and intentional engagement. Jewish Experiences welcomes people of all backgrounds to explore Jewish arts, culture, history, and learning in a warm, judgment-free environment. This position supports the development, implementation, and management of diverse programs and events that strengthen Jewish identity, celebrate culture, and foster lasting connections. The Manager will oversee, coordinate, and execute programming and community engagement, while also supporting other departmental and administrative priorities as needed.

Requirements

Knowledge of Jewish practice, ritual, culture, and tradition.
A proactive self-starter with creativity and strategic vision, eager to develop new and engaging Jewish learning opportunities for adults.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills — able to translate ideas into actionable plans and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, fostering collaboration and inspiring participation across teams and communities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and follow-through.
Skilled at building relationships and navigating diverse Jewish communities with sensitivity and respect.
Proven ability to manage budgets and allocate resources responsibly.
Technologically savvy, with an openness to using new tools and platforms to enhance engagement and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with the Kansas City Jewish community and its history is preferred.
Passionate about Jewish living and learning, bringing enthusiasm, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset to all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities

Design, plan, and execute engaging programs and events that strengthen Jewish identity, celebrate culture, and build meaningful connections across the community.
Cultivate relationships with community members through proactive outreach, hospitality, and follow-up, helping individuals find their place within Jewish Experiences programming.
Build and maintain partnerships with local synagogues, agencies, and community organizations to develop shared initiatives and expand collective impact.
Support Israel engagement efforts by collaborating with the Israeli Emissary (Shaliach/Shlicha) to develop educational and cultural programming that deepens participants' connection to Israel.
Partner with the marketing team to craft compelling communications and outreach strategies that drive awareness and participation across programs.
Gather participant feedback and evaluate program outcomes, using insights to refine offerings and improve the participant experience.
Manage program budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure events are well-organized, cost-effective, and aligned with departmental goals.
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers and program committees as needed to support event execution.
Collaborate with colleagues across The J and the Jewish Federation to support cross-departmental initiatives and community-wide events.
Maintain accurate records of program participation, attendance, and outcomes to inform reporting and strategic planning.
