About The Position

This position is responsible for a team supports monitoring, reporting and compliance of IT Software and Hardware Asset Management programs. The position manages report generation and performs analysis to develop and identify compliance, cost savings and improvements. Responsible for maintaining and presenting current Software Asset Management concepts and objectives that align with the strategic goals and standards of the Entergy IT organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant technical experience, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years relevant experience, preferably with direct responsibility for process design, execution, and continuous improvement
  • Deep financial acumen, including understanding of Property Accounting and cost modeling scenarios from the perspective of a regulated utility
  • Commercial acumen, including proficiency with a variety of negotiating strategies, commercial models, and opportunities to extract value in different ways
  • Experience working with ServiceNow, especially with reporting proficiency
  • Experience developing reporting capabilities for ITSM process CSFs, KPIs, and operational/performance metrics
  • Ability to work with and influence all levels of management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service orientation

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, maintains, and enforces licensing and asset standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Participatse in the development of best practices to optimize and drive increased efficiency through collaboration across internal teams.
  • Proactively tracks and manages all software in the asset management tool, including license costs, counts, usage, and forecasts.
  • Helps champion, utilize, and interpret SAM tools (Flexera, ServiceNow) to better track and manage licenses.
  • Manages the reporting of licensing and asset data on a periodic basis.
  • Provides periodic software usage analysis and reports outlining use, optimization opportunities, and possible cost savings.
  • Responsible for reconciling installed software vs. license entitlements and remediating software license non-compliance by initiating removals or additional purchases based on needs.
  • Leads software audit response with data gathering and license position reporting.
  • Develops and leverages detailed and comprehensive data analysis
  • Understands and develops software cost models.
  • Responsible for the tracking, and facilitation of software maintenance renewals for the Enterprise
  • Supports large software and hardware contract negotiations.
  • Drives continuous improvement across the team’s processes.
  • Owns relevant policy and process documents.
