About The Position

The Manager, IT Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for partnering with the IT PMO Director to provide oversight of the enterprise technology portfolio, IT portfolio management operations, governance, and reporting. As a Center of Excellence, this role leads the curation and offering of pragmatic practices, tools, and training to customers within IT to use in every day departmental project management. In this role, you will develop, maintain, and continuously improve project portfolio operations, governance, and overall health including budgeting & financial forecasting accuracy, vendor management, risk management, resource management, audit & controls, analytics, and reporting to drive top quality, on-time/on-budget delivery. The Manager, IT PMO will manage a team of project management professionals responsible for the successful delivery of IT projects. You will provide coaching, coordination, and people management of IT PMO resources, processes, and functions. You will manage the work environment, identifying workforce needs, and ensuring alignment with corporate manager expectations, values, and vision. This position supports large initiatives that involve stakeholders across the enterprise in the planning & delivery of complex initiatives. You will encourage the adoption and adherence of change management best practices, ensuring IT teams, partners and stakeholders are engaged and informed appropriately throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 5-10 years’ experience specifically in IT project management leveraging waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of project management best practices and knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing teams in matrix-type projects.
  • Leadership experience managing employees in an IT PMO organization is required.
  • Ability to build strong teams, assess and coach talent, develop people, and mentor.
  • Strong facilitator, with experience creating & delivering executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly & concisely at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using commercially available portfolio and project management (PPM) tools (Microsoft Project Server/Online, Apptio, Jira, Target Process, Workday, etc.).
  • Systematic problem solver.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • PMP certification and Agile certifications (PMI-ACP, APMG, SPC, CEC, SPC or SA) are preferred.
  • Experience in IT M&A Execution is preferred.
  • Program management experience is preferred.
  • Experience with vendor management and holding those partners accountable is preferred.
  • Lean Management & Production System or Six Sigma background preferred.
