About The Position

Vanguard is seeking a Manager, IT Delivery to lead and manage multiple delivery teams responsible for an enterprise appointment scheduling product across client and internal platforms. This role involves supervising, coaching, and developing a team of approximately 6–7 direct reports, including full-time, contractor, and offshore resources. The manager will oversee end-to-end software delivery, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and quality standards. Responsibilities include driving the resolution of production defects, incidents, and major outages, partnering with business stakeholders to understand product usage and define enhancements, and ensuring adherence to development processes, engineering best practices, and information security standards. Strong technical expertise in areas like cloud platforms, APIs, and batch processing is crucial for guiding decision-making and supporting the team. The role also involves monitoring and reporting on service delivery metrics, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance system reliability, scalability, and user experience.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant technology experience, including at least 5 years in delivery or project leadership roles
  • Experience leading agile teams delivering enterprise-level software products
  • Strong technical background with experience in modern architectures, cloud technologies (e.g., AWS), or distributed systems
  • Proven ability to manage production systems, including incident response and operational support
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing diverse, high-performing teams
  • Ability to effectively partner with business stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business value
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

  • Monitor and report on service delivery metrics, availability, and overall system performance
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across delivery processes and team operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and IT teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and user experience
