About The Position

Aecon Nuclear is expanding its role in the U.S. nuclear market, supporting complex nuclear, advanced reactor, SMR, DOE, and large EPC project opportunities. Reporting to the Project Director, the Integration Manager will have overall responsibility for implementing and maintaining the project execution integration program. This includes readiness planning, work package preparation and execution, closeout and client submissions, project governance, interface management, and lessons learned. The role is key to achieving project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost. The position will lead and maintain these programs within established quality, regulatory, contractual, and project governance requirements while interfacing with all project stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to balance client expectations, nuclear quality requirements, execution priorities, and cross-functional project needs in a complex regulated environment. This position will also be responsible for the functional ownership of integration leads, project coordinators, and other assigned project execution support personnel, including their recruitment, onboarding, assignments, mentoring, and development while working closely with Project Directors, functional leads, and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with nuclear engineering, modification, maintenance, construction, commissioning, project execution, or integration activities.
• Sound knowledge of engineering principles and processes associated with nuclear generation facilities.
• Detailed understanding of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
• Construction Work Package assembly, execution, and closeout experience.
• Team management and problem-solving mindset with a significant nuclear scope background.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams in a matrix organization.
• Ability to handle all matters in a confidential and professional manner.
• Excellent organizational, communication, facilitation, and client relationship skills.
• Great team coordination and “work together” mindset.
• Extensive knowledge of project execution, financial operations, estimating, project controls, and employee relations required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required nuclear site access authorization.
• Ability to satisfy applicable export control requirements.
• Ability to travel and work at project sites as required.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.
• Experience supporting large EPC nuclear, DOE, SMR, advanced reactor, AP1000, or other highly regulated industrial projects preferred.
• Working knowledge of NRC requirements, NQA-1 quality programs, and nuclear regulatory environments preferred.
• Experience with project controls, earned value management, risk management, change management, and interface management processes preferred.
• Experience with work management, configuration management, document control, and project information management systems preferred.
• Manufacturing, modularization, fabrication, or site construction experience.
• Operations background and business development awareness considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall project execution integration program in close cooperation with internal Aecon teams, clients, partners, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure a collective focus on execution goals.
• Ensure all quality, regulatory, contractual, and project governance requirements are met within the project delivery program, from readiness planning through execution, closeout, and documentation and implementation of lessons learned.
• Establish and maintain project integration frameworks, governance processes, execution management plans, and interface management processes.
• Ensure strong alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality assurance, licensing, operations, client, and partner organizations without duplicate processes, unclear ownership, or unnecessary personnel overlap.
• Maintain the construction readiness program, work package tracking, and execution readiness metrics.
• Maintain the OPEX/Lessons Learned program and support implementation of corrective actions, best practices, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure all project stakeholders are integrated with the project delivery model and clearly understand their roles in contributing to safe, timely, and high-quality execution.
• Lead cross-functional integration reviews to identify execution risks, interface issues, resource constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor integration performance metrics and support achievement of project KPIs related to safety, quality, schedule, cost, readiness, and closeout.
• Provide oversight and assignment of integration leads, project coordinators, and project execution support personnel responsible for work package development, execution support, closeout, and reporting.
• Primary ownership of project integration tools, workflow systems, and execution management processes used to support readiness, work package management, turnover, closeout, and document control activities.
• Coordinate interfaces and resolve issues affecting engineering deliverables, procurement readiness, construction execution, turnover, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
• Support compliance with nuclear quality assurance programs, regulatory requirements, and project governance standards, including applicable NRC and NQA-1 expectations.
• Promote a strong nuclear safety culture, conservative decision-making, procedural adherence, and accountability across project teams.
• Support readiness reviews, management reviews, risk reviews, and project governance reviews to confirm execution preparedness.
• Perform regular field tours to check work progress, verify readiness, understand execution constraints, and meet with project site personnel.
• Provide technical, quality, and program guidance to integration leads, project coordinators, and project execution support personnel.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, performance development, and succession planning for assigned integration personnel.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement across project teams.
