About The Position

The Manager, Integrated Marketing, reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing, will serve as the primary marketing liaison between the Merchandising teams (including but not limited to Home and Jewelry divisions) and the broader Marketing organization. This role is responsible for translating category strategies, product priorities, and business objectives into customer-centric marketing plans that elevate the Jewelry and Home businesses and drive awareness, consideration, and sales as part of the full integrated JCPenney marketing strategy and goals. Acting as the connective tissue between Merchandising and Marketing, this individual will partner closely with category leadership, creative, media, owned channel, social media, PR, store teams, digital, and agency teams as needed to bring product stories, seasonal campaigns, promotional moments, and category initiatives to life across all customer touchpoints. The ideal candidate combines strong product marketing expertise with cross-functional leadership, ensuring that product priorities are represented throughout the marketing planning process and executed with excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in integrated marketing, brand strategy, or related field, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing cross channel campaigns that drive results.
  • Strong understanding of media planning, creative development, and retail marketing cycles.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience influencing and collaborating across diverse teams.
  • Ability to drive towards decisions, especially in large teams.
  • Executive presence required.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day marketing partner for the Merchandising teams (Home and Jewelry).
  • Develop integrated marketing strategies that support category growth, seasonal priorities, product launches, and enterprise promotional events.
  • Translate merchandising objectives, product trends, and customer insights into actionable marketing plans that align with brand strategy.
  • Partner with merchant leaders to identify key business-driving opportunities and ensure marketing support is aligned to revenue goals.
  • Represent category priorities during seasonal, quarterly, and annual marketing planning processes.
  • Ensure category stories are effectively balanced between product storytelling, brand messaging, and promotional support.
  • Lead the development of compelling product marketing narratives that bring product assortments to life for customers.
  • Partner with merchandising and creative teams to identify key product stories, trends, seasonal themes, and innovation opportunities.
  • Build marketing briefs that clearly articulate product benefits, customer insights, messaging priorities, and creative direction.
  • Guide the development of content that highlights quality, craftsmanship, design, value, and trend relevance across both categories.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging and storytelling across all customer-facing channels and assets, including but not limited to direct mail, co-op campaigns, in-store experiences, brand campaigns and more.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between Merchandising and Marketing/Channel teams, including: Broader Integrated Marketing Teams, Owned Channels and Email, Site Merchandising, Media, Social Media & Influencer, Creative, Stores, Production.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure marketing plans support key category objectives while maintaining JCPenney brand consistency.
  • Facilitate communication, decision-making, and prioritization among cross-functional teams.
  • Champion integrated thinking across paid, owned, earned, and in-store channels to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal partners and external agencies to drive collaboration and accountability.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development and execution of category marketing initiatives.
  • Develop proposals, in partnership with broader teams, for marketing plans with co-op funds for approvals and alignment.
  • Manage briefing, planning, and execution processes to ensure strategies are executed on time and on brand.
  • Partner with marketing and channel teams to tailor category stories for relevant customer touchpoints while maintaining message consistency.
  • Support photo shoots, content creation, and production activities to ensure product stories are accurately represented and aligned with objectives.
  • Monitor project timelines and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
  • Partner with customer insights and merchandising teams to evaluate campaign performance and category impact.
  • Leverage customer, sales, and campaign data to identify insights and optimize future marketing efforts.
  • Translate performance metrics into actionable recommendations for both marketing and merchandising stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing visibility into category marketing initiatives, outcomes, learnings and competitive landscape.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to an Integrated Marketing Specialists, fostering both professional growth and marketing expertise.
  • Create opportunities for skill development through exposure to strategic planning, campaign development, cross-functional collaboration, and executive presentations.
  • Guide prioritization, workload management, and career development, helping the Specialist build confidence and influence across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning while providing regular feedback and development support.
  • Serve as a role model for strong partnership, communication, and integrated marketing excellence, helping grow the next generation of marketing talent within the organization.
