About The Position

As a Manager, Infrastructure Operations, you will provide leadership, technical direction, operations oversight, and lifecycle management of Homesteaders’ core infrastructure services. Your role will include being accountable for reliability, capacity, security, recoverability, and cost-effective operation of compute, storage, network, and data center related infrastructure. You will lead infrastructure engineering and operations while promoting automation, standardization, resilience, and modernization.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, information technology, or a related field. An associate’s degree in technology with two years of additional applicable work experience will be given subjective weight.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure operations across server, storage, virtualization, backup, networking, or related technologies.
  • Experience supporting hybrid IT environments, including on-premises infrastructure and integration with cloud services.
  • Experience with lifecycle management, monitoring, patching, capacity planning, incident and problem management, and vendor support.
  • Experience with backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning and testing, high availability, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure security, automation, scripting, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Azure, VMware, networking, backup, Microsoft, Linux, ITIL, or comparable certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and technical direction for compute, storage, virtualization, backup, recovery, data center, server operating system, networking, and related infrastructure services.
  • Translates business and technical requirements into resilient, secure, and supportable infrastructure designs aligned with architecture and security practices.
  • Monitors availability, performance, capacity, lifecycle, technical debt, and support trends and leads resolution of complex incidents.
  • Improves reliability, fault tolerance, backup, restoration, and disaster recovery readiness and owns resulting remediation.
  • Oversees enterprise network, internet, remote connectivity, DNS, DHCP, load balancing, and related services.
  • Promotes automated provisioning, configuration, patching, monitoring, and maintenance through scripting, orchestration, and infrastructure as code.
  • Works with Security to implement hardening, vulnerability remediation, privileged access, logging, segmentation, and patching requirements.
  • Manages vendors, support agreements, warranties, renewals, assets, licensing, capacity investments, and cost optimization.
  • Leads upgrades, replacements, migrations, maintenance, and decommissioning with appropriate testing, documentation, and communication.
  • Coaches team members, manages workload and priorities, supports career growth, and contributes to IT strategy, budgeting, and roadmaps.
  • Leads major infrastructure incidents and participates in off-hours upgrades, maintenance, and recovery events as needed.
