About the role We are looking for a senior IS&T leader for the Copper Business Unit, acting as a trusted advisor to BU executive leadership and accountable for end‑to‑end technology service delivery across IT and OT environments, ensuring a stable, resilient foundation that enables—rather than leads—digital transformation. This is a great opportunity for a strategic, hands-on and collaborative IS&T leader to shape the future technology landscape of a standalone industrial operation in transformation.   • Strong business partnering capability, able to work closely with operational and digital stakeholders to enable business outcomes through stable infrastructure, reliable platforms and practical technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors, service providers and external partners, with the ability to strengthen performance, improve accountability and drive cost optimization.
  • A collaborative and commercially minded leader with experience overseeing budgets, prioritizing demand and balancing operational needs with long-term transformation goals.

Responsibilities

  • Represent IS&T at Copper Business Unit leadership forums, providing strategic advice and governance on technology service delivery, IT resilience and disaster recovery across the business.
  • Lead end-to-end IS&T service delivery across IT and OT environments, ensuring stable, secure and reliable operations that enable business continuity and digital progress.
  • Own demand management, portfolio prioritization and service performance across infrastructure, enterprise platforms and external vendors, building a strong operational foundation for Copper Digital initiatives.
  • Act as a senior IT/OT advisor in a mining and industrial environment, translating operational and commercial needs into practical technology solutions and long-term roadmap priorities.
  • Support Day-1 readiness and long-term transition activities, partnering with business leaders, separation teams, system integrators and vendors across infrastructure, applications, ERP, cyber security and service delivery.
  • Lead financial and operational performance of the IS&T function, including OPEX/CAPEX oversight, service levels, vendor governance and continuous improvement against agreed OKRs.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing IS&T team, fostering a strong safety culture, accountability, collaboration and service excellence in critical operational environments.
  • Drive technology simplification and optimization, reviewing existing applications, systems and support models to improve reliability, user experience, operational effectiveness and future scalability.
