About The Position

Madewell is looking for a bold, relationship-first storyteller to lead our influencer strategy and help shape the next chapter of our brand community. This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a program at the intersection of culture, creativity, and commerce — turning creator relationships into some of our most powerful brand moments. In this role, you'll own the development and execution of influencer partnerships that build brand awareness, deepen engagement, and drive conversion. You'll identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with creators who embody Madewell's values and resonate with our audience — and you'll bring the strategic vision to turn those relationships into standout campaigns. The ideal candidate blends creativity, strategic thinking, and natural relationship-building instincts. You'll come in with an existing network across talent, agents, and agencies, and you'll use it to expand Madewell's community of creators, tastemakers, and partners. You're equally comfortable thinking big-picture and rolling up your sleeves to execute flawlessly — and you're energized by the idea of building something meaningful from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of influencer marketing experience, ideally within beauty or fashion, including experience with large-scale, complex seeding initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating contracts, usage rights, and compensation terms with talent, agents, and agencies.
  • Deep fluency in social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Substack and other emerging channels), content trends, and what makes creator content perform.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of building lasting relationships with influencers and external partners.
  • Strategic, creative thinker who can move fluidly between big-picture vision and hands-on execution.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate campaign data into actionable insight.
  • Highly organized project manager, comfortable juggling multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of FTC disclosure requirements and other influencer marketing regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with influencer marketing and analytics tools (e.g., CreatorIQ, Dash Hudson, influencer databases) strongly preferred.
  • We welcome you to apply, even if you don't check all the boxes. Our passion is scouting life-long learners who are driven by curiosity, and who feel connected to our brands and share our desire to make an impact. We’re always seeking bright new talent who leverage their unique experiences to discover, grow and evolve with our teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development and execution of a multi-dimensional community strategy that builds brand awareness and unlocks scale across tiers, platforms, and campaign types.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams to translate product and brand priorities into compelling strategies; finding ways to integrate and amplify content across owned channels.
  • Contribute to community-related special projects and experiential activations (e.g., pop-ups, events) as an extension of strategy.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform shifts, and emerging creator formats, bringing fresh ideas that keep Madewell at the forefront of culture.
  • Concept, negotiate, and manage multiple paid influencer partnerships end-to-end — from briefing and contracting through content delivery and usage rights — with a focus on top-of-funnel awareness and engagement.
  • Own and maintain influencer relationships across all campaigns and tiers, ensuring every partner feels like a true collaborator.
  • Build creator seeding lists and mailers tied to key product moments, collaborations, and launches.
  • Lead organic gifting/seeding efforts across outreach, coordination, product trafficking, and content management.
  • Brief and manage creative deliverables in partnership with the creative team, ensuring every piece of content is on-brand and on-strategy.
  • Generate comprehensive performance reporting to inform and optimize future partnerships, partnering with performance marketing to set goals tied to business growth.
  • Support with the management of influencer budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Ensure all partnerships comply with relevant legal and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FTC disclosure requirements).
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and interns, helping build a strong bench for the broader team.

  • In addition to our hybrid work model, we also close our office at 1:00 PM every Friday during the Summer months.
