This position provides leadership to the Indigenous Programs and Data (IPAD) team, directing the development and implementation of research, reporting, and data strategies that enable evidence-informed decision-making. The role supports the design and evaluation of programs and services for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, while leading strategic briefing processes and cultivating effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position supports the Government of Alberta's (GoA) platform commitments for Indigenous health and contributes to the Ministry's response to "The Way Forward" recommendations. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as these projects require ongoing collaboration and coordination with other branches and divisions, government departments, jurisdictions, and First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities/organizations.

Requirements

  • University graduation in a field related to the position assignment, supplemented by four years related experience; or equivalent as described below.

  • Equivalencies: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
  • Strong understanding of research, data analytics, data visualization, KPI development and reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise leading teams to develop and implement business processes and best practices.

  • Experience in collaborating and coordinating projects with multiple partners in other branches, divisions, and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Operations planning; reporting and coordination; conduit into the engagement.
  • Supporting data and analytics framework, dashboard, etc.
  • Assesses, analyzes, and develops, in consultation with the Director, senior leadership teams (ie. Executive Director, Assistant Deputy Minister), and colleagues in other units, the programs, procedures, and standards related to operational service delivery for the unit.
  • Cultivate and encourage a strong commitment and ethic toward service excellence within the unit and among the wider team.
  • Support the Director, and EDO in achieving the mandate, goals, and operations of the ADMO and the mandates of the Division.
  • Create and oversee the implementation of administrative and operational mechanisms that facilitate program delivery within the work unit.
  • Efficient and effective project plans are in place to ensure strategic operations.
  • Strategic priorities are identified, planned, and advanced through government's decision-making process in a timely manner through appropriate analysis, consultation, and political consideration.
