About The Position

Treewalk is hiring a Manager, Indigenous Advisory Services to run the day-to-day finance operations for a portfolio of Indigenous governments, organizations, and businesses as a fractional controller. The role owns each client file, from routine monthly operations to backlog cleanup and audit preparation, with responsibility for accurate books, disciplined closes, timely funder reporting, and audit-ready year-end files. The position offers schedule autonomy and remote flexibility; overtime is described as a rare exception. The manager leads month-end and year-end close, oversees accounting operations, prepares audit support, and manages finance across multi-entity groups. The role also tracks funding by program, prepares reporting for funders, develops practical controls and policies, and coaches accountants, bookkeepers, and CPA students. Treewalk’s Indigenous Services group supports Nations and Indigenous organizations so their leadership can focus on community priorities.
