About The Position

The Manager in Training is an entry-level management role at the store level. The role fully manages store staff and operations when the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are absent. It supports store leadership in achieving sales and profitability goals, delivering customer service, maintaining merchandise presentation and store cleanliness, and ensuring operational tasks are completed in accordance with company standards.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to respond to store alarm problems as needed.
• Communication and organizational skills.
• Strong drive to achieve results.
• Initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift 15–30 pounds.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of retail experience preferred.
• A college degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in driving sales and profitability by achieving or exceeding established store and individual goals.
• Personally demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in communicating operational goals and directives to help the store team meet the sales plan.
• Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and evaluating individual performance, including sales volume, hourly production, units per transaction (UPTs), charge accounts, and loss prevention.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and assist the Store Manager in managing store staff as needed.
• Execute and comply with floor-set guides and promotions in a timely manner.
• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in maintaining merchandise presentation according to visual merchandising standards and current floor sets.
• Recognize, understand, and communicate customer merchandise needs, including whether the store's assortment meets those needs.
• Work with the Store Manager to ensure markdowns and transfers are completed correctly and promptly.
• Assist store management in ensuring the sales floor and stockroom meet company cleanliness standards.
• Respond to store alarm problems as needed.
