Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, motivate, direct, develop, and train a team of production employees.
  • Assign work and set priorities for employees.
  • Provide technical expertise and managerial leadership.
  • Effectively communicate daily crossovers and build/test issues across all levels of Manufacturing.
  • Prioritize production schedules based on available manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity, and materials requirements.
  • Lead operational meetings; establish consistency in processes, and ensure alignment of tactical and/or strategic plans.
  • Develop and track key organization performance metrics to meet or improve cycle time performance.
  • Schedule and conduct milestone meetings.
  • Ensure timely response to operations issues impacting customer satisfaction; act as an interface in the establishment of and ensuring conformance to customer/vendor requirements; prepare detailed analysis of cost of quality opportunity and initiate corrective action.
  • Actively strive to prevent employee accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure and document that all department employees (including temporaries) receive and follow appropriate department training including Environmental, Health and Safety training.
  • Implement, emphasize the importance of, and monitor compliance to appropriate safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop personnel to include training and career development; manage the performance management process to include the development of team and individual goals, implementing employee development plans, and coaching.
  • Manage the employee selection, hiring, reward, and discipline processes.
  • Analyze and plan for maximum production capacity optimization; implement and monitor manufacturing or department processes that collect, analyze, and report key measurement data and real-time status.
  • Identify process and quality changes designed to improve manufacturing or department capabilities.
  • Drive Lean, Safety, and Quality initiatives.
  • Take corrective action.
