About The Position

This role focuses on promoting and supporting company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. The Manager II, Quality Engineer - Supply Chain leads process improvement tools and methods such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies. The primary focus is on eliminating quality losses and deviations within a Distribution Center, according to the Network Process Structure, using Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. This position compiles and submits deviations to existing One Best Way playbooks and provides input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. The role assists with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology, manages project execution of top-quality losses in the functional area, and assists in building the capability of other area managers and associates. Additionally, the role assists with the creation of area quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics, and develops gap analysis to support WPS integration. The Manager II, Quality Engineer - Supply Chain leads quality-related savings projects within their area of responsibility by taking loss out of the process and supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within the process area. The role delivers expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis and loss elimination, creates standard work to reduce process variation, and assists with the review and response of quality-focused process improvement projects owned by area managers. This position also coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments, develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, and supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs. The role identifies and communicates goals and objectives, builds accountability for and measures progress in achieving results, and identifies and addresses improvement opportunities. Demonstrates adaptability and promotes continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates, including hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and implements related action plans. Utilizes and supports the Open Door Policy, providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3 years’ experience in Quality or Process Improvement OR 5 years’ experience in Engineering or Process Improvement with Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building and implementing a Quality Management System
  • Knowledge and application of a functioning Quality Management System elements including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, Quality KPIs, etc.
  • Quality Improvement experience in a Total Performance Management (or related program) environment
