About The Position

This role leads process improvement initiatives within a Distribution Center, utilizing various tools and methodologies to eliminate losses and enhance efficiency according to the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. The position involves analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), developing standard work to reduce process variation, and contributing to the ideation and replication of process improvement projects. The Manager II will lead savings projects, ensure compliance with company policies, and support the tactical deployment of the WPS program. This role also involves managing project execution for top losses, building the capabilities of other managers and associates, and supporting gap analysis for WPS integration. Additionally, the role requires coordinating and overseeing job-related activities, managing relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with customer and business needs. A key aspect of this role is providing supervision and development opportunities for associates, fostering a culture of belonging, and promoting continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in Process Improvement
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Analytical skills
  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long-term savings

Responsibilities

  • Leads Process Improvement tools and methods (e.g., 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, time and motion studies) to eliminate losses in a Distribution Center.
  • Delivers expected functional area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and creating standard work.
  • Assists with the review and response of process improvement projects owned by area managers.
  • Applies new network One Best Way playbooks and provides input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication.
  • Leads savings projects within the area of responsibility by taking loss out of the process.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Assists with the tactical deployment of the WPS program methodology.
  • Manages project execution of top losses in the functional area.
  • Assists in building the capability of other area managers and associates.
  • Supports area loss profile analysis and performance metrics.
  • Develops gap analysis to support WPS integration.
  • Supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identifies and communicates goals and objectives, builds accountability for and measures progress in achieving results.
