About The Position

Under general direction, this role oversees and guides a team of hourly/salaried non-exempt employees in the Claims Department. The position acts as the face of the team to external parties, including other areas of the Company, customers, etc. As part of management responsibilities, the role monitors operations and team performance, ensures standard operating procedures are followed, and supports escalated issues as they arise.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with more than 5 years combination of education, experience and training.
Ability to communicate effectively over the phone.

Responsibilities

Assign open files to a group of Litigation Claims Examiners, monitor workload and adjust as needed.
Counsel/give advice on new and existing claims.
Coordinate with other departments or segments of the company, including outside vendors and customers.
Ensure claims are reported in a timely manner to insurance carriers.
Provide guidance on settlement authority to team members within their defined ranges.
Support night safety with their questions and coordinate legal representation.
Provide management guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, as needed, including other personnel actions (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring).
