About The Position

We are seeking a Manager, Human Resources to lead the full HR function at our Pickering, Ontario site. This role serves as a strategic business partner and hands-on leader, responsible for driving talent, culture, compliance, and operational HR excellence. You will play a key role in aligning HR initiatives with business goals while supporting a high-performing, engaged workforce.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including site-level HR leadership
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
  • Familiar with payroll processing, year end activities for payroll.
  • Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound judgment with a data-driven, analytical approach
  • Experience managing Canadian payroll and benefits programs

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience supporting global or multi-site organizations
  • Proven ability to navigate cross-border HR compliance and policies
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ongoing development in HR law, leadership, and analytics

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner to site leadership, providing strategic guidance and day-to-day support
  • Drive HR initiatives that align with business objectives and operational priorities
  • Identify workforce trends, risks, and opportunities; develop actionable solutions
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Design and support performance management, succession planning, and talent development programs
  • Promote a continuous learning culture through training and development initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution
  • Foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performance workplace environment
  • Lead employee engagement activities and initiatives (including Social Committee oversight)
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are documented, maintained, and compliant with applicable regulations
  • Maintain personnel records, organizational charts, and HR reporting (including monthly metrics)
  • Oversee benefits administration (RRSP, health, vacation, etc.)
  • Manage payroll processes in Payworks
  • WSIB claim management and Workers’ compensation for different provinces.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain job descriptions.
  • Support broader business initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • All other duties as assigned.
