About The Position

The Hospitality Operations Manager is responsible for leading the hospitality operations of the University Club at Arlington, ensuring an exceptional experience for members, alumni, donors, university leadership, guests, and event participants. This position oversees all clubhouse hospitality functions, member services, events, and clubhouse staff while maintaining the highest standards of service, professionalism, and operational excellence. As a key member of the club's leadership team, the Hospitality Operations Manager creates a welcoming environment that reflects the traditions, prestige, and mission of the university.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of progressive hospitality/event management experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily operations of the clubhouse, dining facilities, event spaces, and member hospitality services.
  • Deliver an exceptional private club experience through personalized service and attention to detail.
  • Develop and implement service standards that promote consistency, quality, and member satisfaction.
  • Address member feedback promptly and professionally while fostering long-term relationships with members and guests.
  • Plan and oversee hospitality services for member events, golf tournaments, alumni gatherings, donor receptions, weddings, university functions, and private celebrations.
  • Collaborate with university departments to support institutional events.
  • Develop creative member programming that strengthens engagement, retention, and club participation.
  • Maintain the club's welcoming, inclusive, and service-focused culture.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, schedule, and evaluate hospitality staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular staff training focused on service excellence, safety, and member engagement.
  • Foster an environment that supports employee growth and retention.
  • Assist in developing and administering annual operating budgets.
  • Monitor revenues, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and inventory levels.
  • Prepare reports and analyze operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement strategies that support financial sustainability while enhancing member value.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, club bylaws, health regulations, liquor licensing requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive clubhouse environment.
  • Support risk management initiatives and emergency response procedures.
