About The Position

We are looking for a seasoned leader to play a pivotal role in supporting the HSE planning and execution across projects in Quebec. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to guide a multidisciplinary team during frontend planning and execution. You’ll manage significant risks, build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders, and ensure consistent application of world‑class safety and environmental standards across the project. Requirements

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) leading HSE efforts on large scale, complex projects in dynamic social and political environments.
  • Degree qualified or significant relevant combination of education and experience in Safety / Health, Environment.
  • Strong ability to anticipate risks, analyze issues, and act proactively before problems arise.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information clearly for diverse audiences.
  • Proven strength in negotiation, influence, and building productive relationships at all levels.
  • Proven success in leading teams through complex project environments with sound judgment and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend HSSE planning to ensure full execution readiness for mining projects.
  • Manage complex risks, impacts, and mitigation plans across all project phases.
  • Oversee compliance with PM+ HSSE requirements and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and support a multidisciplinary HSE team across offices and site environments.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership, external affairs, communications, and technical groups.
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to uphold a strong social licence to operate.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal partners to support project approvals and execution.
  • Contribute to shaping HSSE processes, policies, and systems through feedback and best‑practice sharing.
  • Represent HSE at the Aluminium and Lithium Projects Leadership Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with global project HSE Managers in sharing lessons to support continuous project improvement.
