About The Position

Haleon is currently seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the site's environmental, health, safety, and compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and standards, while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Montreal facility is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, involving complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in French is required for effective communication and adherence to operational and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in an EHS or compliance-related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in team management and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both for raising awareness and positively influencing the HSE culture.
  • Ability to analyze HSE data and develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress.
  • Knowledge of change management practices related to the implementation of HSE programs.
  • Experience with internal and external regulatory compliance audits.
  • Good professional judgment and ability to make quick, informed decisions in critical situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in conducting internal or external HSE audits.
  • Experience in managing continuous improvement projects in environment, health, and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop HSE training programs.
  • Certification in health and safety (CRSP, CSP, or equivalent).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Advanced skills in risk analysis and incident investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs to prevent injuries and promote well-being.
  • Design and deliver EHS and compliance training to ensure awareness of safe practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the EHS team and collaborate with other departments to integrate HSE practices.
  • Conduct regular health and safety audits.
  • Lead risk management activities and ensure mitigation measures at the site level.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage the environmental aspects of the site and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Stay updated on new regulations, technologies, and best practices in HSE.
