About The Position

TNTP is seeking a Manager, Fundraising & Government Grants to play a critical role in executing the organization's philanthropic strategy. This position requires strong project management skills to cultivate and steward relationships with grantmaking institutions and donors, contributing to TNTP's goals for growth and impact. The role involves collaboration with internal teams, including Fundraising, Consulting, and Central Operations, to support fundraising processes and grants management. TNTP has a significant philanthropic portfolio of over $20M and aims to diversify its funding sources beyond institutional grants to include individual, corporate, and other philanthropic support.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant fundraising and/or project management experience
  • Familiarity with education issues, research, and policy (preferred)
  • Experience using Salesforce (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline driven
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • The ability to learn quickly, adhere to tight deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, and multi-task effectively
  • Evidence of strong cross-team collaboration skills and the ability to manage up
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to identify challenges and creatively work to find solutions and operationalize them
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong word processing, page layout, and basic graphic design skills (proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required)
  • The ability to work effectively, both independently and with others at all levels of the organization, and to consistently display a high-level of professionalism in all interactions

  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, Spanish language preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the timely submission of grant proposals, including the development of supplementary materials, through strong project management.
  • Manage the grant agreement review and signing process.
  • Track grant payments and donations and develop acknowledgement letters.
  • Forecast and manage all grant reporting processes, timelines, and information-gathering efforts by working closely with internal staff across the organization at all levels to deliver high-quality grant reports.
  • Copyedit and submit grant proposals and reports.
  • Support the Fundraising and Government Grants Team’s knowledge management activities (e.g., codifying and documenting grants and donation management processes, maintaining resources in TNTP’s internal SharePoint hub, collecting templates and exemplars, capturing best practices, creating proposal and reporting templates, etc.).
  • Develop solutions to grants management challenges as they arise.
  • Conduct regular audits of Salesforce data to ensure our philanthropic portfolio is accurately recorded in the system, including opportunity stage, revenue, and important documents such as proposals and budgets, to support TNTP’s annual audit.
  • Conduct research on current and prospective funders.
  • Provide general writing, editing, and other funder communications support.
