About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes for the Industrial segment at Woodward. This hands-on role will play a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis, identifying trends, and ensuring the company achieves its financial goals. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable being in the details, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • The ability to oversee and contribute to financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • The ability to partner with business units and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • The ability to ensure that financial processes are compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies and implement controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • The ability to identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness including driving adoption of Power BI and AI initiatives.
  • The ability to manage other finance professionals, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • A deep understanding of accounting principles and practices, including financial reporting and analysis.
  • The ability to communicate financial data and analysis to internal stakeholders, including presenting findings to senior management and responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • The ability to manage projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • The ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or anomalies.
  • The ability to lead and inspire within and outside of finance to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Experience working across global teams in the industrial manufacturing sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to simultaneously manage and contribute to multiple process and tool improvement projects
  • Advanced skills using Power BI with a strong interest in challenging the organization to use AI to drive efficiencies in key processes
  • Capacity to oversee planning and reporting processes while still being an active contributor in planning and analyzing the financials of specific functions in the organization
  • 7-10 years of experience in finance roles with an emphasis in FP&A tasks and responsibilities
  • 1-3 years in leading others, specifically setting goals, monitoring performance and providing timely and relevant feedback

Responsibilities

  • Plays a key leadership and contributor role in all financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Partners with business units and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Responsible for ensuring that financial processes are compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This includes participating in internal and external audits and implementing controls to mitigate financial risks.

  • Responsible for managing one other finance professional, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
