About The Position

The Manager of Fleet Programs is responsible for leading the teams and programs that support MYR Group's fleet operations. This position provides leadership for Fleet Programs including telematics, DOT compliance, fleet training, and other Fleet initiatives as the department continues to grow. Working closely with the Director of Fleet Management, the Manager of Fleet Programs is responsible for turning Fleet strategy into consistent execution. This role develops employees, drives accountability, and ensures Fleet Programs deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that support the company's operational goals. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Manager is expected to lead people, own program performance, collaborate across departments, and step in to support the team whenever needed. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in fleet management, fleet operations, transportation, equipment management, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience with responsibility for developing employees and leading teams
  • Experience leading enterprise Fleet Programs
  • Working knowledge of fleet operations, compliance, maintenance, and telematics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using data and reporting to support operational decisions
  • Experience with reporting platforms such as Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Proven success managing high-dollar and long-lead materials
  • Ability to influence across decentralized organizations
  • Collaborative and operations-focused
  • Working knowledge of reporting platforms such as Power BI or similar business intelligence tool
  • Proven ability to balance enterprise discipline with execution flexibility
  • Proven ability to prepare, present and carry out schedules, evaluations and recommendations
  • Excellent knowledge of technical aspects of fleet materials and equipment specified and installed in the electric construction industry
  • Solid knowledge of applicable regulations
  • Proficient with MS Office applications
  • Extensive knowledge of GPS Telematics, DOT regulations, commercial fleet operations and related technologies

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited four (4) year degree in applicable field of study; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Professional certification related to fleet management or transportation - beneficial
  • CAFM or CEM certification preferred
  • Experience leading enterprise fleet programs - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop Fleet Program team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and ownership
  • Establish priorities, communicate expectations, and provide regular coaching and feedback
  • Support employee development through mentoring, training, and performance management
  • Build a team capable of delivering consistent, high-quality results
  • Manage Fleet Program teams including telematics, DOT compliance, fleet training, and future Fleet initiatives
  • Ensure Fleet Programs are executed consistently and remain aligned with department objectives
  • Monitor program performance and work with the team to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term program success
  • Provide leadership during new program implementations and organizational initiatives
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, IT, Equipment Managers, and other departments to support Fleet initiatives
  • Assist with reporting, analysis, and problem-solving to support business decisions
  • Support the team during periods of increased workload or operational need
  • Promote standardized processes and best practices across Fleet Programs
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and program effectiveness
  • Use data and performance metrics to measure results and drive improvement
  • Recommend practical solutions that improve efficiency, customer service, and overall Fleet performance
  • Encourage innovation while maintaining consistency across Fleet Programs
  • Regular and predictable attendance
