About The Position

The Department of Finance is a central agency and the primary advisor to the Government of Nunavut (GN) on all fiscal, financial and human resource matters. With more than 200 employees working in Iqaluit, Cambridge Bay, Rankin Inlet, and Igloolik, Finance ensures the government uses public funds in a way that is accountable and sustainable. The Manager works in Iqaluit and makes decisions that impact all GN departments and Nunavummiut in all 25 communities. Department of Finance The Department of Finance (FIN) supports the Government of Nunavut by managing public finances and ensuring funds are used appropriately. The department works on budgeting, fiscal planning, taxation and insurance, and provides financial advice that supports informed decision-making across government. By promoting responsible financial stewardship, the department contributes to the effective delivery of programs and services that support Nunavummiut.
