About The Position

Oversee over $4B in annual worldwide financial expense accounting, reporting, disclosures, and internal controls across all TWDC streaming services related to: Partner subscription revenue share and bounty fee arrangements in support of contracts with the largest manufacturers of streaming devices in the world (e.g., Roku, Samsung, LG, Amazon, etc.). Partner subscription Premium add-on bundle and stand-alone arrangements (e.g., HBO Max, Crave, NFL+, etc.) in support of contracts with the largest 3rd party streaming services in the world. The Hulu + LiveTV linear service, in conjunction with Fubo in support of contracts with the largest broadcasters of linear channels in the US (e.g., NBCU, Fox, ESPN, WBD, etc.).

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and internal controls.
  • Master data management and systems development experience.
  • Ability to prepare and present information to support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Demonstrated strong partnering, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of PC-based software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience including a mix of public and private accounting work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification.
  • 4+ years of experience in the entertainment industry.
  • Experience with reading contracts and interpreting accounting requirements to assess implementation and system readiness.
  • Remittance processing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting and financial reporting aspects for revenue share and bounty fee contracts, the Hulu + Live TV service, and TWDCs Premium add-on subscription businesses.
  • Oversee quarter-end close process including approval of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Perform analytical reviews and provide variance analyses for key financial metrics to segment and corporate reporting.
  • Oversee monthly remittance processes including the generation of monthly statements and the approval of monthly and quarterly payments, ensuring timely and accurate calculations as dictated by the negotiated contractual terms.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders (Tech, Legal, Product, Business Operations, Technical Account Management, etc.) to provide feedback on contracts being negotiated.
  • Interpret contractual terms, ensure accounting requirements are properly addressed, solve business challenges, and troubleshoot system development projects and overcome limitations and blockers.
  • Interface with contracting parties and partners to answer questions and resolve business challenges.
  • Support the accounting and operational rollout of new products, bundles, and other business initiatives within the subscription business.
  • Help oversee system (BRIM (revenue share and bounty, Accounting Cube, and Looker) development, enhancements, configurations, and testing efforts to ensure financial transactions are recorded completely and accurately, manage master data to ensure transactions post accurately.
  • Maintain an effective SOX internal controls environment.
  • Perform quarterly control owner certifications.
  • Assist and advise Finance teams during preparation of budgets/forecasts and support variance analysis.
  • Support quarterly/annual PwC external audits, internal management audits, and 3rd party contractual audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement to obtain efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and career guidance to direct reports.
  • Manage special projects (DOJ requests, legal support, M&A requests, etc.) as needed.
