About The Position

Oversee Accounting department. Oversee Warehouse, Accounting, Count Team and Cashier departments in Finance Director's absence. Reconcile various bank accounts to general ledger. Assist with preparation of monthly adjustments. Examine month-end financial statements for accuracy, completion and budget comparison. Prepare and file Minnesota sales and entertainment tax reports, foreign tax, 1099s and W2gs. Compile yearly budget information from all departments, and work with revisions and variances. Perform bank transfers, and update Finance Director on cash status. Perform loan compliance calculations for loan covenants. Evaluate accounting procedures, and recommend changes for improvement. Provide guidance and assistance to support staff and casino personnel. Compile reports as requested. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience in Accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • GAAP financial reporting experience.
  • General Ledger experience.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Able to work holidays as needed.
  • Able to work well with others as part of a team.
  • Computer literate.
  • 10-key by touch.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in casino accounting helpful.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sage accounting system preferred.
