About The Position

The Manager, Finance plays a critical role in driving strategic financial planning and analysis by developing comprehensive financial models and providing actionable insights to support business performance. This position partners with cross-functional teams to monitor financial controls, identify risks, and enhance reporting transparency. The role involves preparing and presenting financial forecasts, assumptions, and variance analyses to senior leadership, while fostering strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, the manager leads and develops associates, ensuring compliance with company policies and promoting continuous improvement aligned with Walmart’s mission and values. The Finance team plays a vital role in delivering financial insights and supporting strategic decision-making across the company. This team prepares detailed financial analyses, models, and reports to guide business performance and expense planning. Collaborating closely with various departments, the team ensures alignment with financial goals and enhances reporting transparency. Members contribute to risk management, process improvements, and effective communication of forecasts and variances to senior leadership. The team fosters professional growth through mentorship and development, upholds high ethical standards, and drives continuous improvement to support the company’s mission and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in financial analysis, planning, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong management skills with experience leading teams and developing associates.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Experience in developing financial models and preparing presentations for business case evaluations.
  • Skilled in identifying risks and implementing controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborative approach to working with stakeholders to align business goals and drive performance improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or relevant area OR 4 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic input to financial planning through detailed analysis and modeling to recommend expense targets and assess business performance.

  • Manage control structures to mitigate financial risks and enhance transparency in reporting and financial systems.
  • Develop financial models incorporating assumptions and risks to support business decisions and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Lead budgeting processes, identify performance gaps, and offer insights on trends impacting business objectives.
  • Supervise and develop associates, fostering accountability and continuous improvement within the finance team.
