About The Position

We are seeking a versatile Accounting, Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager to oversee our financial and operational compliance ecosystem. This role will lead full-cycle accounting, manage payroll, track multi-year production costs, and head our annual property tax filings. This position will work full-time from our Santa Monica, CA office.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Finance
Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams)
Advanced knowledge of accounting/billing systems software, especially QuickBooks.
Advanced communication, customer service and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

CPA/tax preparation experience a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and profitability reports.
Prepare data for local, state, and federal tax returns and other CPA data requests
Oversee reconciliation of all ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, and bank statements.
Manage the full cycle close process, including accruals, deferrals, and journal entries.
Supervise, train, and review the work of junior bookkeepers or accounting clerks.
Distribute direct and indirect overhead costs to specific products or departments
Manage full-cycle payroll processing (bi-weekly) for regular, seasonal employees using a payroll processing platform
Oversee the submission of payroll taxes, W-2s and 1099s
File accurate business property statements annually with California county assessors.
