About The Position

We are Chandos, a 100 percent employee-owned and B Corp certified commercial builder committed to inclusion, collaboration, ingenuity, and innovation. We are seeking a Finance Manager to finalize work-in progress schedules, ensure timely project closeouts, and lead monthly project forecast reviews for accurate financial reporting. This role involves working closely with project teams and district leadership to identify risks, support annual planning processes, and improve operational efficiency through training and continuous improvement. The Finance Manager will also monitor district KPIs, implement solutions, support accounting and operational processes, ensure adherence to internal controls, and provide ongoing coaching and training to accounting and operations teams.

Requirements

• 10 years of relevant work experience (construction project accounting or public accounting)
• Accounting or Finance Degree
• Experience working in or servicing clients in the construction industry, working for a general contractor or construction management company is strong asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• CPA designation is an asset
• knowledge of tools such as Power BI and data queries is an asset

Responsibilities

• Finalize work-in progress schedules and ensure projects are closed out in a timely manner
• Lead monthly project forecast reviews, ensuring accuracy of both project and overall district financial reporting
• Work closely with project teams and district leadership to proactively identify risks, ensuring reliable financial reporting which will inform decision-making
• Support the districts leadership teams with annual operational and financial planning processes
• Identify ways to improve operational efficiency through ongoing support, training, and continuous improvement
• Monitor district KPI’s to identify issues and implement solutions to drive resolution
• Support all accounting and operational processes, ensuring all internal controls are properly adhered to
• Provide on-going coaching and training to both accounting and operations teams
