About The Position

This position is responsible for directing and overseeing the maintenance and service operations of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and critical power systems. The role involves evaluating facility needs, managing complex projects, ensuring financial sustainability through budget management, and driving the execution of business plans and sustainability initiatives. The Manager, Facility Services will also supervise and develop associates, promote company policies, and ensure business needs are met while prioritizing customer experience and cost-effectiveness. The role emphasizes a culture of respect, integrity, and continuous improvement, aiming to put the customer first and drive value through an Every Day Low Cost mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field and 3 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or related area.
  • EPA 608 Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Directs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and critical power maintenance and service operations.
  • Evaluates current and future projects, facility needs, and equipment needs to increase efficiency.
  • Directs temperature adjustment, analyzes systems and load requirements for energy reduction, and ensures functioning of facility systems.
  • Develops standard operating procedures and establishes facility maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Oversees execution of sustainability initiatives to meet Environmental Protection Agency compliance programs.
  • Manages complex projects by determining work assignment priority, planning work assignments, developing workforce needs, supervising work in progress, inspecting completed assignments, and creating punch lists.
  • Directs regional field operations by developing goals, approving activities, controlling maintenance costs, tracking preventive maintenance completion, monitoring contractor performance, and assisting in district goal setting.
  • Ensures financial sustainability by developing and approving budgets, evaluating return on investment, approving contracts and invoices, and determining people resource requirements.
  • Reviews budget plans by verifying cost estimates, approving purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies, and providing technical assistance.
  • Maintains project oversight by ensuring timelines are met, coordinating changes, managing costs, monitoring work status, and communicating schedules.
  • Manages department budget by gathering and analyzing data, validating spending, reviewing invoices, developing reports, approving expenditures, managing warranty reimbursement, and ensuring landlord compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local industry laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying needs, developing plans, removing barriers, providing resources, measuring progress, and developing contingency plans.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Ensures business needs are met by evaluating the effectiveness of plans, consulting with stakeholders, and soliciting suggestions for improvement.
