About The Position

This role will oversee fabrication and quality control, monitoring progress and ensuring production deadlines are met. The Manager, Fabrication will direct fabrication operations to consistently meet production and budgetary goals, and oversee operations to ensure production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained. The position determines equipment availability and capabilities to efficiently schedule, coordinate, and move fabrication orders through the facility to meet customer expectations. This role also coordinates shop activities with sales, instructs and monitors staff regarding safety issues, and ensures the workplace is safe and in compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable fire codes. Additionally, the Manager, Fabrication makes requests for repairs and equipment as needed for the shop, ensures accurate and safe loading and unloading of trucks, and manages inventory loss (scrap) through the production process, while monitoring rebar inventory.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be within a comfortable driving distance of a local facility.
  • Leads and supports production teams through coaching and day‑to‑day problem solving.
  • Improves how work gets done using basic Lean practices (5S, standard work, better flow).
  • Communicates clearly across shifts and with partner teams.
  • Comfortable using computers for tracking and reporting (Excel and Microsoft tools).
  • Brings a strong safety‑first mindset in a hands‑on fabrication or shop environment.
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • May require certification.
  • Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
