About The Position

The successful candidate will be working at the forefront of the green energy transition, managing REV’s large and growing renewable products portfolio – a key driver of the company’s success. The successful candidate will develop and execute asset backed and proprietary trading strategies in new and existing REC markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of REC market fundamentals, model building and a track-record of taking calculated risks to make profitable trades.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience transacting and analyzing environmental products in the major US REC markets, particularly New England and Mid-Atlantic states
  • Proven history of taking risk accretive positions and generating incremental trading profits in REC markets
  • Experience managing a complex environmental products book, including negotiating contracts and REC operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Economics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • Ability to work on a number of simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills; tenacity, attention to detail and insatiable curiosity
  • Strong excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage position and inventory balances for the asset fleet, by executing REC trades
  • Devise and execute position taking strategies to add value to the book
  • Develop relationships with external counterparties and routes to market, in order to further develop our flow business, obtain market information and capture opportunities
  • Develop and maintain fundamental REC models in US markets, particularly Mid Atlantic and New England state compliance programs
  • Collaborate with origination to price and provide market expertise for structured environmental transactions
  • Stay up to date on implemented and potential regulatory policy changes at the state and federal level
  • Communicate strategies and market updates to senior management
  • Participate in external advocacy, industry events and networking groups
  • Lead participation in REC auction and RFP processes
  • Ensure integrity of systems and commercial operation processes and assist in development
