About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Engineering Manager to lead our Fab Engineering organization within semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role will oversee the Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Yield Engineering teams while partnering closely with Fab Production Operations to drive manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, yield improvement, equipment performance, on- time delivery (OTD) and continuous process optimization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven track record of leading engineering teams in a low-volume, high mix semiconductor fabrication environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience in a wafer fabrication environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams within semiconductor operations.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, yield improvement methodologies, and equipment engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting low-volume high mix manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational leadership abilities.
  • Proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multiple engineering disciplines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of SPC, FMEA, 8D, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with discrete semiconductor technologies and assembly process.
  • Familiarity with MES, factory automation systems, and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization consisting of Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Yield Engineering.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, performance management and career development for engineers and staff.
  • Establish clear goals, priorities and performance expectations aligned with fab operational objectives and metrics.
  • Partner closely with the Manager of Fab Production Operations to ensure alignment between engineering and production objectives.
  • Drive rapid issue resolution related to process excursions, equipment downtime, yield loss, and manufacturing disruptions.
  • Support production capacity planning, cycle time reduction, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Ensure engineering support is aligned with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Lead initiatives focused on yield enhancement, defect reduction, process stability, and overall fab performance improvement.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for process and equipment-related issues.
  • Utilize data-driven methodologies and statistical analysis to improve manufacturing outcomes.
  • Oversee implementation of process controls, SPC methodologies, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure high equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance effectiveness across fab operations.
  • Partner with equipment vendors and internal stakeholders to support tool qualifications, upgrades, and technology transfers.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Facilities, Planning, Supply Chain, Operations and Business Unit teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Support new process introductions, technology transfers, and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning and roadmap development for fab engineering capabilities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, environmental health and safety standards, and semiconductor manufacturing best practices.
