About The Position

The Digital Channels Team at TD builds and operates digital services for Canadian business customers, enabling them to manage their everyday banking online. The team focuses on creating simpler, faster, and more reliable banking experiences for small, medium, and large businesses, designing, building, and supporting these digital experiences end-to-end in collaboration with bank partners. They prioritize safe, dependable technology that operates at scale and handles millions of daily business interactions. The Manager, Engineering, will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining the engineering culture and community. This role involves coaching team members on skills and performance, fostering their professional growth, and guiding engineers to ensure that solutions effectively meet business requirements and align with technology strategies. This includes involvement in planning, evaluation, recommendation, design, operationalization, and support of solutions, all while adhering to enterprise and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Strong people leadership experience in large, complex technology delivery environments.
  • Full‑stack engineering background (Angular, APIs/microservices, cloud platforms).
  • Experience delivering regulated, customer‑facing digital banking platforms at scale.
  • Practical experience with DevOps, automated testing, and modern delivery practices.
  • Working knowledge of AI‑assisted development and test automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery across analysis, design, build, test, release, and support.
  • Manage and develop engineering teams, including performance management, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Drive agile execution, release planning, dependency management, and delivery risk mitigation.
  • Ensure quality, resiliency, security, accessibility, and regulatory compliance are embedded into delivery.
  • Oversee CI/CD, DevOps, and release management practices to enable safe, frequent deployments.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Platform teams to deliver integrated digital banking solutions.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools across the SDLC to improve developer productivity, quality, and speed.
  • Act as an escalation point for delivery, operational, and people‑related issues.
