About The Position

At MyFitnessPal, we believe good health starts with what you eat. We provide tools, resources and support to enable users to reach their health goals. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the MyFitnessPal Engineering team leading our Subscription Growth squad to continue driving double-digit paid subscriber growth on top of our mission-critical payments platform. As a member of our MyFitnessPal Engineering team, you’ll lead a cross-functional team of backend and iOS engineers focused on outcomes over outputs, using data and experimentation to drive MFP's product strategy. Our Subscription Growth team maintains critical integrations with the Apple and Android app stores and Stripe to provide a seamless paid subscriber onboarding experience. They prioritize platform stability and quality and are currently focused on building growth-driving features on top of these robust platforms.

Requirements

4+ years experience leading engineering teams in close partnership with Product and Design, working iteratively with a deep focus on customer outcomes.
Strong analytical focus and comfort working through tricky A/B testing and data attribution challenges, ideally in a Growth domain.
Experience building highly available third-party integrations that process high-volume data, ideally in a subscription domain.
Experience leading consumer-facing development work focused on native apps using iterative, learning-focused agile methodologies.
Strong technical and product judgment: you can frame engineering investments as business outcomes and bring that perspective into cross-functional planning and roadmap discussions.
Experience developing high-trust engineering teams through mentorship and coaching: you set clear goals, context, and decision-making frameworks while empowering engineers to own technical execution and tradeoff discussions.
Knowledge of common patterns and software engineering and best practices: you’ve worked with high-traffic mobile applications and know how to build for scale, balancing speed, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional team of backend and iOS engineers focused on outcomes over outputs, using data and experimentation to drive MFP's product strategy.

Prioritize platform stability and quality and focus on building growth-driving features on top of these robust platforms.
Lead the team to deliver significant growth on top of our mission-critical payments platforms.
Cultivate an environment where engineers thrive and collaborate effectively with Product and Design to achieve their goals.
Partner closely with Product and Design, leveraging a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools to explore Growth solutions across our mobile and web apps.
Work closely with the team to ensure strong technical decision-making grounded in product context, setting us up for continued success implementing new growth and monetization strategies.
Take a hands-on approach to delivery management, ensuring the backlog is healthy, maintenance and tech debt work are scheduled, and work is broken down appropriately, in a timely manner.
