About The Position

Con Edison, a multibillion-dollar energy utility, is leading the clean energy transition in New York City and Westchester County. We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers. The Area Station Planning team is at the core of the Con Edison strategic vision to help the New York State achieve its Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals. Reporting to the Section Manager, the Manager is pivotal to managing engineers and coordinating with stakeholders in planning the electric infrastructure, specifically at the Sub-transmission feeder, Area Substation and 4 kV Unit Substation level. The selected candidate will identify & communicate solutions for load relief projects by collaborating with internal & external stakeholders, renewable energy developers, utilities, and government funding agencies. Selected candidate will develop subject matter expertise in Area Substation planning processes and objectives, identifying load relief recommendations for supply and substations, facilitate project feasibility and coordination with different planning, engineering and operations groups from conceptualization, funding, to implementation. The Manager will provide both engineering and business support associated with implementation of existing and new planning processes to prepare the grid for the clean energy future. This is a great role to demonstrate your ability to drive results, demonstrate application of cross-disciplinary skills to support the clean energy space and gain first hand experience in managing a team to produce meaningful impact customers.
