About The Position

The Manager, Employee Relations leads internal workplace investigations, guides business leaders and employees on company policy, practices, and applicable state/federal employment laws, and partners with the business on employee and labor relations matters. This position will report to the Director Employee Relations and will collaborate with the Vice President Employee Relations & Services and the larger Human Resources team. The Manager will represent the company in union meetings and will support business leaders in effective performance management best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years relevant hands-on experience in Employee Relations, leading complex workplace investigations, Labor Relations (CBA) and conflict resolution.
• Comprehensive understanding of employment and human resources related federal and state laws, regulations, policies, principles including but not limited to NLRB, Title VII, EEO, FMLA, ADA, Unemployment & Worker’s Compensation concepts.
• Must be analytical, have excellent interpersonal/persuasion skills, verbal & written communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, while managing multiple investigations, cases, and projects.
• Demonstrated objectivity regarding employee concerns and organizational needs, problem solving, sensitivity, diplomacy, and solid judgment in considering the impact of decisions.
• Confident, progressive, and professional interface with representatives of labor/union affiliates.
• Proficient in technology and the use of case management systems and related technologies.
• A customer experience focus, and mindset; ability to understand business challenges and to create solutions that positively impact the way people perform.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the sports, entertainment and/or hospitality operation industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into employee complaints by consistently applying internal investigation best practices, and resolve matters in a manner that reinforces a culture of equity, inclusivity, and an engaged, trusting workforce.
• Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate level of discretion at all times.
• Manages day-to-day employee & labor relations matters, including attending labor management meetings, coordinates, and participating in union grievance resolution, and responding to general information requests.
• Advise and train managers on administering employee discipline, including corrective actions, policy violations, and union grievance procedures.
• Own case management end to end — progress reporting, accurate documentation, and tracking of all internal investigations.
• Utilize a case management system to track and report metrics such as case volume, case types, and investigation outcomes, and collaborate with leadership to analyze trends and identify proactive solutions.
• Partner with internal and external legal counsel on arbitration and witness preparation, attend hearings as a Company representative, and maintain detailed investigative records that may support future legal proceedings.
• Ensure collective bargaining agreements are consistently administered, and legal requirements are met, applying sound judgment and risk recognition to minimize exposure to liability.
• Respond to employee relations matters with a sense of urgency and ensure each is resolved promptly.
• Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
