This specific role is for a Manager - Electric System Reliability in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years’ utility experience to include: electric transmission, distribution, or generation operations, planning, design or construction
  • NERC Operator Certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months
  • Strong leadership ability including coaching, team building and conflict management
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Strong problem solving, communication, negotiation and organization skills
  • Capable of dealing with stressful situations and making sound decisions in a timely manner
  • Travel required
  • This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the establishment of goals, objectives and performance measures for Electric System Operations.
  • Establish practices, procedures and guidelines to satisfy reliability requirements.
  • Establish and maintain procedures to ensure effective internal and external communications contributing to coordination of operations.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans, including utilization of personnel, budgets, and responding to industry changes.
  • Work with other areas of the company to support power system operation.
  • Lead the implementation of emergency actions to preserve the integrity of the bulk electric power system and coordinating restoration in the event of a system blackout.
  • Interface with other utilities, MISO, and NERC Regions for all operational concerns as well as coordinating the implementation of tariffs and contracts.
  • Adhere to “standards of conduct” and confidentiality of agreements with FERC order 889
