About The Position

The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) is responsible for ensuring the warehouse and yard operate at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction as the primary objective. This role provides leadership for distribution operations, inventory management, logistics, safety, and team performance while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Successful completion of a C-TPAT background check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience; unionized environment experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to provide effective written and verbal feedback.
  • Strong process management and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification Lean Six Sigma considered an asset.
  • Experience with SAP EWM.
  • Experience with RF systems and SAP is considered an asset.
  • Unionized environment experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in distribution operations in accordance with established service and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements for employees, contractors, carriers, and visitors.
  • Lead, develop, coach, and manage the distribution centre team to deliver exceptional customer service and operational results.
  • Set employee goals, conduct performance reviews, and support ongoing development.
  • Schedule staff and approve employee timecards.
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline employees as required.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, service, and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through physical counts and reconciliation processes.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, expenditures, and variance analyses.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and yard leaders to analyze productivity and implement loss prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, C-TPAT requirements, transportation management systems, and corporate standards.
  • Coordinate employee training programs in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Facilitate communication with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the distribution network.
  • Prepare and maintain operational performance reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
