About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Manager – Development In vitro Metabolism to join their team in Madison, WI. This role involves managing laboratory and support teams that conduct and support metabolism studies, ensuring timely completion and compliance with SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines. The position requires a significant workload within the lab, contributing to the Development In vitro Team. The Manager will also consult with the Director on budgetary matters, department goals, and supervise staff, including performance evaluations and skill development. This role emphasizes quality data collection, policy implementation, and collaboration with global counterparts. The Manager will represent their operational group on committees, assist in planning and scheduling, and contribute to technical and staff development goals, functioning in a leadership capacity within Pharmaceutical Chemistry management. Client relations and business development are also key aspects of this role, requiring creative problem-solving for complex issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • 7 or more years of experience with Inhibition assays, Induction assays, Protein Binding Assays, Transporter assays, LCMS and Metabolic Stability
  • 4 or more years of experience as a lead, supervisor, or manager

Responsibilities

  • Manages laboratory and support teams conducting/supporting metabolism studies to ensure testing is completed by established deadlines and in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Consults with Director regarding budgetary matters and department/company goals and objectives.
  • Assists with performance evaluations, salary administration, staffing decisions, and other supervisory activities for the group.
  • Develops skills of chemists and technical staff.
  • Assures quality data collection.
  • Interprets and implements policies affecting staff and the technical management of the assigned group.
  • Effectively works with North American and global counterparts to ensure consistency of processes within Chemistry unit.
  • Represents own operational group on interdepartmental committees.
  • Assists in planning, scheduling and project activities for assigned group.
  • Contributes to the establishment and implementation of technical and staff development goals.
  • Functions in a leadership role within Pharmaceutical Chemistry management.
  • Maintains client contacts and establishes new contacts for specific service.
  • Works on a wide range of problems where causal relationships are progressively difficult to establish and the use of creative thinking is required.
